~ Linking up to Tot School ~ Thing Two is currently 25 months old.
We had fun lots of different Christmas themed activities and games this week. Thing Two’s fun activities this week came from these Packs and Units:
C is for Christmas & J is for Jesus – Confessions of a Homeschooler (COAH)
Christmas Tot Book & Nativity Preschool Pack – 1+1+1=1
Winter Wonderland Pack – Over the Big Moon (OTBM)
- Candy Cane Color Matching (COAH)
- Color cards for the nativity characters and animals. He just loves setting htem out and talking about them all. (1+1+1=1)
- A little book from our Nativitiy Tot Book, he loves it because he can “read” it himself! (1+1+1=1)
- “A Cow with Baby Jesus!”
- “Merry Christmas” Letter/color Matching (1+1+1=1)
- Size Sequencing Nativity (1+1+1=1)
- Color Matching Baby Jesus’ (COAH)
- A foam puzzle from Dollar Tree. They have a great school section!
- Yes, he takes them out and puts them back in by color.
- Do-a-Dotting!
- Do-a-Dot Paints: also great for color matching! :-)
- Thing Two’s “tree” is clearly impressionistic art.
- Lacing abc letter beads
- He made a “caterpillar” and “walked” it around the house.
- The ice cube tray was a “bus” and he was loading the counting bears as passengers. Too cute!
- He really loves the Hippo Counting Cards from our Letter H week (months ago!) (COAH)
- Nativity Number Order Puzzles, he can do the 1-10.
- 4-piece People Puzzles (OTBM)
- These were size sequenced Candy Canes (COAH) and for some reason he thought we should turn them over and then asked “where’d they go mama?”
- Sorting Christmas Tree patterns/colors (1+1+1=1)
- Candy Cane Memory (COAH)
- Well, this was a picture of a candy cane (COAH)
- Some extra coloring, it was a page he wasn’t interested in during the Letter Q for Quilt week (COAH)
- Christmas Cookie Shadow Match (can’t remember where I found this one, sorry!)
- Some playdough fun. I traced cookie cutters onto cardstock and laminated them to make the mats.
- Adding beads to his playdough

I love the idea of tracing cookie cutters to make a play dough mat! We will have to try that one!
I’ve made Dollar Tree stops for coloring books before but never checked out their other toys – thanks for the tip!
