…how depressing is it that it is JANUARY in SPOKANE and we have NO SNOW?! I saved Letter “s” intentionally for January because I figured we’d have enough snow to build a snowman to go along with our LOTW Snowman unit from COAH. We don’t even have a dusting – not even a flake. In fact, it has been crazy warm here this week for January. It was in the mid 40′s! So, sadly, we did “S is for Snowman” without a snowman…I guess this is what those of you in places like California feel like in the winter!
Here’s some highlights of our week. All our Snowman activities can from COAH (link above).

“The Geek” was off Monday for the holiday and helpped out with our school day! This is Snowman pattern Building, something Thing One has trouble with – maybe because of the “building” part? (seems lots of moms are refering to their husbands with a nickname, like their kids, how’s mine? lol He IS a geek – a computer programmer – so it is not poking fun…much).

No melt down with Daddy’s help – go figure! Success!

-
The ever-loved do-a-dot page
-
-
UC/LC sorting – easy since “s” is the same both ways!
-
-
Patterning – see, he is fine with this kind of patterning, I don’t know what it is about the “build” ones he has so much trouble with…especially since the building patterns are just COPYING the exact picture.

Count & Graph, he also decided to match the colored mags to the snowmen’s scarves (his idea, not mine). I guess Thing Two’s OCD is wearing off on him. :-)

He wanted a picture. His glasses glare so badly all the time – I have no clue how to fix that issue.

I printed a picture from a coloring book I have for him to paint.

School was done for the week, but they wanted to play with some little dinos I found at Dollar Tree (we use them for counting and such). They were putting them in ice cube trys and playing dinosaur train! Too funny.
That was our snow-less snowman week! Next up is the “Letter N for Nest”…stay tuned!
