Letter O for Octopus and Ocean!
Our “O is for Octopus” printables came from COAH’s LOTW and our other Ocean themed games and fun came from Homeschool Creations’ Ocean PreK Pack.
- Calendar Time
- We’re working on learning the Months of the Year, and have a catchy little song to sing.
- Rolling his di for our roll & graph Ocean Animals game (HC)
- This was THE longest one of these kind of games EVER. I was making the x’s – I should have just hurried up up, but I guess I can’t cheat, lol.
- Filling in the Missing Number (LOTW K4)
- Milk Cap Spelling (LOTW)
- Letter O Do-a-Dot page (LOTW)
- Number Tracing (LOTW)
- Octopus Counting 1-10 (LOTW)
- Whale Size Sequencing (HC)
- Lacing Card (LOTW)
- Cutting out pieces for our cut & paste from LOTW. I drew a circle around the items for him to have a line to cut on. Telling him to cut the actual Octopus freaked him out, lol. It was a rather tricky and small octopus.
- I made printed, cut out, and laminated a BUNCH of Ocean Animals for the boys to play with this week. I put magnet tape on the back so they could find fun places they would “stick.” They also liked to put them in our pocket chart. Thing Two had LOTS of fun with these .
- Name Tracing sheet. I have him do this about once a week. He is getting really good. He can’t make all his letters on his own yet, but he’s getting better all the time. The tracing really helps.
- Octopus Counting “How MAny” game (LOTW) I printed double of the game pieces so we could go up to 20.
- Patterning (LOTW)….and a sceaming Thing Two in the background…it was a long morning.
- Color puzzles (LOTW)
- Puzzle (LOTW)
- He put it together completly on his own! He was excited!
- Trace & Color (LOTW)
- Gluing and then decorating his octopus family with some “bubbles”
- Making our TP octopus (octopi?) craft I spotted on Pintrest.
- gluing eyes to his octopus
- This is what they looked like! You can see the dots in the underside were supossed to be the sucksion cups.
- Pretty cute!
- Our week of “crafts” – yeah I am not so crafty it seems. I mean I am very crafty, just not really with the boys’ crafts.
- Dude – this was the HARDEST “which is different” -I- have ever done! I myself had a hard time spotty these – it was super hard! (HC)
- Size Sorting (LOTW)
- 1-10 Counting Cards – first he sorted them in order…
- …then he added the right number of flat marbles to each.
- LOTW cutting practice page! He’s getting better evert time we try.
