Calendar Connections: Free Printable Set

I’ve been preparing to get back into our school schedule. Well, our “official” schedule, because, let’s face it: every moment is teachable. And THAT, my friends, is one awesome thing about homeschooling!IMG_0227

So, in the midst of preparation, I have updated our Calendar Book pages and fixed them up so you can use them too! There is a variety of options to choose from, and you don’t have to use everything in a book, like we do, you could just utilize the different skill pages in other parts of your day.

IMG_0145 We have been using the Calendar Books I created for the past year or so. We basically use them for practicing not only letter formation by tracing, but Thing One has learn ALL his months of the year by sight through these simple pages. We worked on the first thing, when we were doing our wall calendar.

IMG_0502  It has morphed into a GREAT activity to stick in the quiet bag for church and doctor appointments. Thing Two likes to work in his book when I am busy with his Brother. I can call out numbers while still focusing on Thing One, and he can “hide” the correct numeral.

IMG_0077And, the other day I caught Thing Two working in his book (his choice) and tracing with total PERFECTION. Now, his pencil grip leaves much to be desired, but – sheesh – that’s awesome!

IMG_0542Thing One even came up with a way to RECYCLE his Calendar month pages! One day this summer he saw me changing out the June for July in his book. He begged me to cut up the month…and so I let him. Not only was it a SNEAKY way to get in some fine motor and scissor skills, but after he cut out all the days and numbers, he said “it’s a big puzzle – now I need to build it!” And he did – with little help from me – put it back in numerical order like a real calendar. Impressive.

Ready to check these pages out? Here’s the different components to our current Calendar Book. I place the pages in sheet protectors and let them use dry erase markers. But you could also just use the sheets with markers or crayons. I am working on a few more additional as well, so stay tuned. Just click on the images below to download the PDF files.

Sensory Fish Bubble Counting (FREE Printable)

Sensory Bubble Counting Fish Thumb

Something FUN to keep your little ones practicing their counting and number words over summer! All the directions for creating this game are included along with the colorful number fish. It’s easy and can be played at two levels: numeral recognition or for sight word number practice!

IMG_0382 IMG_0415 IMG_0419

The bubbles are made with glitter glue – which dries with a fun raised texture! Thing Two LOVES his “fishy game” and has asked to count his bubbles all week!

IMG_0420 IMG_0425 Thing One worked on his sight words with the number words set of fish. He wanted a picture by his completed board like his Little Brother. They both really had fun with this game and I am leaving it up on the wall for future use…and formulating a plan for more poster board games like this, so be sure to follow Ironic Adventures on Facebook and Twitter to get updates on new printables!

~ ENJOY!
