M2M: Bird Feeders & Fun

We are REALLY enjoying our break. Well, I am – even if the boys are driving me nuts without the routine of school to fill up our morning.

IMG_0419 We made some nifty bird feeders from 2 Liter Bottles. I found a kit at Joann’s in the “Kids Camp” isle. It came with paint and stickers and a screw-on contraption of plug the bottle filled with seed and let just enough come out for the birds to eat.

Only problem is I keep having to chase the darn squirrels away from them! I have no idea how to keep them from eating all our bird seed. So, suggestions welcome in this area, please!

IMG_0386 IMG_0388 The boys, and even The Geek, love Samson….but I think Thing Two is a little jealous…or Samson is jealous of Thing Two?  Every time he is on Daddy’s lap Samson comes up and tries to crowd him off! It is pretty funny.

IMG_0381 Samson thinks he is Spiderman…surprisingly STRONG screening in these apartments, lol.

We got a water bottle, the vet said to spray him if he is doing something we don’t want him to do) but he seems not to heed the water bottle. The Geek has suggested a Super Soaker, lol. I think that might boarder on abuse.

The boys having a good time dancing to some music. I love when they are getting along. Shortly after this photo the “hand holding” became more like squeezing until there was screaming, but hey, at least it started off sweetly.

We’ll be back to school on Monday. I have gotten SO MUCH done – and that feels good. Lots of prep work and organization. I even completed a Pinterest-inspired project (more on that later). Breaking and resting is important!

Moments 2 Remember: Break Style

Last week, and currently, we’re breaking from school. Last week my sister “Auntie Amy!” came to visit (which always a treat for all of us, especially the boys because she spoils them…they are her only nephews!) so here’s some fun photos of her visit.

555868_2593341647788_1682070172_1628612_2130807348_n My sister (left) and me (the scary one one the right)…a real pair, for sure. I think it is impossible for us to take a serious picture together. Impossible. :-)

One is a duck, and it is up for debate as to what the green one is – I say crocodile, Thing Two insists it is a dinosaur. I suppose either works.

IMG_0006 IMG_0007 I put her to work blowing up my solar system for the co-op classes I’m teaching this spring. Luckily, she’s got lots of hot air and was a quick worker. ;-)

IMG_0008 Just playing!

I’m working to ready the next phase for school. Got a sweet World Continents display up on the wall now and world animals, money, time, and measuring stations too…and I’m talking pictures and posting our K plan soon. :-) Getting excited and kind of nervous…feeling a little more “real” now that Thing One’s ready and headed for K level work.

God is good, and somehow even in our tiny apartment He’s enabled me to create a wonderful little schoolroom ( aka the dinning room) that the boys love and that really makes it look like I know what I’m doing – haha riiiiiiiight…

Moment 2 Remember: Giggles & GREEN

Thought I would share the FUN we had on Saturday.

IMG_0082 IMG_0083 IMG_0084 We went on a color treasure hunt and the boys found a treasure left by a leprechaun at the end. It was filled with some fun prizes and a dish of GREEN rice crispy treats with rainbow sprinkles!

IMG_0080

The “leprechaun” couldn’t resist eating one of his treats the night before. What can I say? I LOVE rice crispy treats! He also turned out milk green – but it was still delicious. I was worried they would freak out and not drink it…so I was surprised when they drank it readily. Maybe the leprechaun should have left them broccoli instead?!

IMG_0087 IMG_0088 IMG_0089 One of the treats in the treasure were these fun glasses! And some green beads, which I couldn’t resist wearing. I like having fun too. :-)

IMG_0093 IMG_0095 Some fun masks (from Joann Fabrics for a buck!) were also part of our treasure. The Geek even played along and posed in Thing Two’s mask. The boys love when he’s silly. He’s a great Dad. :-)

IMG_0097 IMG_0102

IMG_0104 The boys got a GREEN bath too (food coloring – didn’t stain the tub or the kids either). That was the highlight of the day I think. They asked me if they could have a purple one next time…what did I start? lol Though, it could be a super fun way to explore color mixing!

IMG_0115 IMG_0116 The last part of our treasure was glow sticks – which they got to break & shake at bed time!

A LOT of moments to remember…so I’m linking up to:

Moments 2 Remember #5: Yes, I said “poop.”

Impromptu Potty Advice…I about died laughing as I ran to find the camera. The discussion was about pooping, though neither actually did anything. Hey, I have boys, poop is a BIG deal in our house!

Decorating for St. Patrick’s Day with window clings from Dollar Tree (it’s quickly becoming my Mecca for all sorts of fun, storage, and school stuff!).

Moments to Remember #4

I think this is my favorite post of the week. I love looking back and realizing how wonderful the week was – even when I thought it was awful. I love when my boys work together to make something fun and even a little educational too.
