Moment 2 Remember: Giggles & GREEN

Thought I would share the FUN we had on Saturday.

IMG_0082 IMG_0083 IMG_0084 We went on a color treasure hunt and the boys found a treasure left by a leprechaun at the end. It was filled with some fun prizes and a dish of GREEN rice crispy treats with rainbow sprinkles!

The “leprechaun” couldn’t resist eating one of his treats the night before. What can I say? I LOVE rice crispy treats! He also turned out milk green – but it was still delicious. I was worried they would freak out and not drink it…so I was surprised when they drank it readily. Maybe the leprechaun should have left them broccoli instead?!

IMG_0087 IMG_0088 IMG_0089 One of the treats in the treasure were these fun glasses! And some green beads, which I couldn’t resist wearing. I like having fun too. :-)

IMG_0093 IMG_0095 Some fun masks (from Joann Fabrics for a buck!) were also part of our treasure. The Geek even played along and posed in Thing Two’s mask. The boys love when he’s silly. He’s a great Dad. :-)

IMG_0104 The boys got a GREEN bath too (food coloring – didn’t stain the tub or the kids either). That was the highlight of the day I think. They asked me if they could have a purple one next time…what did I start? lol Though, it could be a super fun way to explore color mixing!

IMG_0115 IMG_0116 The last part of our treasure was glow sticks – which they got to break & shake at bed time!

A LOT of moments to remember…so I’m linking up to:

Moments 2 Remember: Brother Learning & Love

I found them, Thing One counting Farm Animals for Thing Two, at the top of the stairs ( there is a good sized area for playing in the upstairs hall area). I ran back down to find a camera so I could catch them in the act of teaching and learning together (it wasn’t even “school” time, they just seem to have snuck the Farm Animals Tot Pack upstairs…lol). After I snapped the picture they said “hey! no pictures!” and I told them I just loved to see them being good brothers, and then they hugged each other – which of course needed another picture! So sweet. I love my boys!

Snow Day!

Who wants to have school when there’s FINALLY snow outside? We got about a foot over the last couple days. Thing Two was the only one who had real snow pants, and he has the least fun…I guess a face full of snow when you fall is not so great, is it? He was happy to sit and “kick” the snow. Thing One made “tracks” all about and with some of our balls and things.

Truth in the Tinsel day 22: Wisemen

Glitter should be an illegal substance. Just sayin…
Here are our nifty Wisemen paper-chain dolls! If you don’t already know, we are using the book Truth in the Tinsel. I highly recommend trying this out next year if you haven’t already. (And just to prove the awesomeness of it, I will say I plan to do this again next year. I think they will enjoy it even more at a little older age!) It has been a lot of fun and a great way to get the whole family involved in devotions. Our tree is filling up with wonderful handmade remembrances of Jesus’ birth story! (this is great because I don’t have many ornaments otherwise!)

Truth in the Tinsel Day 21: The Star

I think I loved today simply because this craft didn’t involved ANY glue!  I let Thing One go for it on his star, just helping to guide the string into the slits. It is a very….creative…star. Thing Two had help from Daddy – so theirs is “picture perfect,” haha.

The boys put there stars on our tree themselves tonight. Usually we have to wait for the glue to dry, so I put them up before I go to bed and they “find” their new ornaments the morning.
