Magic E Printable Game

While I was on Jury Duty for the month of April, The Geek and I decided something needed to happen so the boys could keep up with school. Especially because they just had a month or so off for our move! Thankfully The Geek’s boss was willing to let him adjust his schedule a bit. So…The Geek took on the role of teacher a few hours each morning!

He is not as obsessed with picture snapping as some people (ahem), but I did beg him to be sure and capture this new game for me! And, these are, literally, the only pictures he took. :-) Maybe I should have been more specific. hahaha

The boys love anything that involves moving around – and especially anything that they have to “find,” let’s forget the part that the words aren’t really hiding…they are in plain sight all over the house…but hey.

Want to get the Magic E Word Hunt Game? All the words in this pack are also words BEFORE the Magic E is added (extra reading practice). You can hide them all around the house or the classroom. There are over 30 words to hunt and read!

Monster Word Spacers

I wanted to share something I created a few weeks ago for Micah to help him with his word spacing when he’s writing. This word spacer is the perfect 1/2 inch space between words. And, it is great for left or right hand writers! I looked and looked for one to actually buy, but commercial ones are all set up for right handed kids – with nothing to hold on the right side! With the Monster Word Spacer my left handed kiddo can hold this in place easily with his right hand while making the first letter of the next word with his left.

And – it’s monster themed – so there’s extra fun there too. I printed on card stock  laminated, and cut it out. I think printing on regular paper would work just fine too (and would have been a lot easier to cut out after it’s all stiff from the lamination!). Just click the image below to download your spacers (be sure to print at 100% or “full size” to ensure your monsters are the right size). Enjoy!

Spring Fling Fun

Even amidst the moving boxes we finally got out school on and had some fun with our Spring Fling Pack! The boys have been asking for 2 weeks when we would have school again. So…not sure this counts as “school” so much (especially for Micah since this pack was really geared to Thing Two). BUT they both had fun – especially with the roll & graph and the read & write the room cards. Which the pictures seem to have disappeared for…but I hid a word card in The Geek’s office and they were SO excited to find it in there (and “visit” Daddy at work).

Look like fun? You can download your {free} Spring Fling Pack right here ~ Let me know how you like it!

Spring Fling Preschool Pack

I’ll have a more in-depth look at our fun with this pack next week, and actually, I was going to wait to post this pack until then…but I thought you’d like to grab it now so you could fit it into your March planning. After all, it’s March 1st (already!) – and it seemed like a good date to kick off my first full-blown theme pack!

There are 20 different activities. I tried to include our favorite kinds of activities from packs we use by other homeschoolers and teachers. I may have gone a bit crazy in the amount of items, but it was so fun to create!

This probably sounds silly, but finally having the time to make a full-out printable pack makes me giddy. I have wanted to do this for quite a while now! I’d love to know if you enjoy using this – and if you have anything you might like to see in future packs from me {cause I’ve got plans!}. If you send me a link of your kiddos enjoying these activities I’d love to link to you so others can see it in action with kids other than mine. :-)

a little something

I like playing around with the computer. And so enter my weekly blog plan. Now, this is not a big production. It’s short and simple. Very to the point. I don’t need a lot of extras because I’m still small and no one is throwing their products at me for review. One can continue to hope though.

You’ve got a place for a title, a spot to note any link-ups you’re joining with the post (because as far as I know that’s the only way for us small folks to be seen and get ourselves out there), and a social media sharing checklist. There’s also space to write notes for each post. That’s it. All in a colorful and clean layout. I made it for me, so it’s very clean and super simple. And rainbow. Because, well, I still love Rainbow Bright.

Now, I’m sharing it with you: iA weekly blog plan. This is a zip file which includes a rainbow of colors.

So go! Print. Plan. Write. Enjoy. And tell me if you do!
