Truth in the Tinsel Days 1-3

We’re using the new paper printable ornaments this year to go along with our Truth in the Tinsel Advent Devotions.

Here’s this year’s tree decorated {with what the cat hasn’t destroyed} from our Truth in the Tinsel crafts from last year. We enjoyed making the ornament crafts. Sadly, many have been lost to Sampson alreayd this year. He has a thing for glitter and cotton balls.

I can’t wait to add all our new creations!

Last Minute {Easy} Thanksgiving Ideas!

Hand print Turkey Candles! Simple & Cute! These guys were the late night inspiration for my Sunday School class. Needed: a baby food jar, construction paper, googly eyes, and glue! We put battery candles in ours so the boys can have them in their room at night. A tea light size real candle also works.

Our Thankfulness Wall. We’ve been adding to it each day of the month. Download the free leaf template: Thankfulness Wall Leaf Templates.

Truth in the Tinsel day 22: Wisemen

Glitter should be an illegal substance. Just sayin…
Here are our nifty Wisemen paper-chain dolls! If you don’t already know, we are using the book Truth in the Tinsel. I highly recommend trying this out next year if you haven’t already. (And just to prove the awesomeness of it, I will say I plan to do this again next year. I think they will enjoy it even more at a little older age!) It has been a lot of fun and a great way to get the whole family involved in devotions. Our tree is filling up with wonderful handmade remembrances of Jesus’ birth story! (this is great because I don’t have many ornaments otherwise!)

Truth in the Tinsel Day 21: The Star

I think I loved today simply because this craft didn’t involved ANY glue!  I let Thing One go for it on his star, just helping to guide the string into the slits. It is a very….creative…star. Thing Two had help from Daddy – so theirs is “picture perfect,” haha.

The boys put there stars on our tree themselves tonight. Usually we have to wait for the glue to dry, so I put them up before I go to bed and they “find” their new ornaments the morning.
